Nature Farm School @
Bali Family Farms
The Crossroads of Health, Nutrition, and Family in Llano, Texas
Farm School Program @ Bali Family Farms
Our farm is filled with ponds, wildflowers, sacred trees, and animals overlooking the hill country. Based on permaculture principles, we practice soil regeneration, livestock, and hand-crafted high-nutrition vegetable production. Our livestock are moved constantly to a fresh pasture to promote animal health, soil biology, and nutritious grass growth. Our goal is to work in harmony with nature to produce healthy food for our local community and to promote knowledge exchange, community collaboration, health, and educational programs. Our farming practices follow natural systems and prioritize animal quality of life so you can eat healthier food.
Using curriculum influenced by Wilderness Awareness Schools, Waldorf & Montessori Education, and the Garden-Based Learning Movement, we teach nature, gardening & regenerative farming skills on our organic, regenerative, permaculture, biodynamic veggie & medicinal herb farm.
Each farm school day consists of group games, circle time, farm chores working with the farmers, gardening or farming activities, time with our seasonal farm animals, nature activities, art, stories, homestead skills, wilderness exploration, food preparation, basket making, knife safety & carving, fire safety & building, art, music, and so much more. Our land is a living classroom for kids to explore, experience, and connect with the fascinating natural diversity found in nature & on a working farm. During our hot months, we incorporate water play into our day and spend plenty of time in the shade under our giant oak & cedar elm trees. Hydration is a priority and we play many fun hydration games throughout the day.
